Brick couple goes green with home demolition

Brick couple takes ‘green’ route with home demolition

brickcoupleWhen Jenn and Brad Clayton started to look at ways to demolish their recently purchased house on Winding River Circle, they knew they wanted to do something that would benefit others without impacting the environment.

So, instead of hiring a demolition company, the couple hired Details, a Baltimore-based group that carefully takes apart houses, piece by piece, so the building materials can be recycled and used by groups like Habitat for Humanity.

“The home was just too nice to have a bulldozer come and knock it down,” said Jenn Clayton, 38. “By doing this, people that need items can use them and we are able to reduce the amount of waste that goes into landfill, and provide jobs.”
