Johns Hopkins recently released its report on the Hopkins Local Initiative, aimed at enhancing local economic growth, employment, and investment in Baltimore through its hiring and purchasing initiatives.
According to the report, Johns Hopkins University and the Johns Hopkins Health System hired 304 employees from Baltimore’s distressed neighborhoods and campus-area communities during their first year of the initiative. Humanim’s workforce development programs were instrumental to the Hopkins Local hiring initiative. The report highlights Humanim’s administrative training programs and employment services as an important partner in its local hiring efforts, as well as one of our administrative trainees and placements, Monique Harrison (pg 11).
