Greenfields Living Community Project Groundbreaking Ceremony

Yesterday was iHome’s groundbreaking ceremony for the new Greenfields Community Living Project! The Greenfields homes will provide affordable housing for low-income adults with disabilities, allowing them to live independently in their community while receiving home support. The three new houses will be Zero Energy homes, creating sustainable housing and new innovative, affordable housing models.

Humanim was joined yesterday by guest speakers, Howard County Executive Calvin Ball, Senator Guy Guzzone, U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development, Mid-Atlantic Region Regional Administrator – Joseph DeFelice, President of iHomes – Judi Olinger, President & CEO of Standard Energy Solutions – Steve Welsh, and Delegate Jen Terrasa.

This project is an amazing collaboration between Humanim’s iHomes and various partners, including The Harry and Jeanette Weinberg Foundation, Howard County Housing & Community Development, Maryland General Assembly (Howard County Delegation), Standard Energy Solutions, and US Department of Housing & Urban Development.

We want to extend a huge thank you to each funder, partner, and guest who shared their support and excitement at the Groundbreaking Ceremony. As well as to City Seeds, a Humanim Social Enterprise, for providing delicious boxed lunches at the event! Watch the recorded live video at: https://bit.ly/3cfUeFd
