The Infinity Center for Behavior Services celebrated its grand opening with family, friends, and members of the communities in Carroll and Harford Counties. The early intervention centers provide therapy based in Applied Behavior Analysis for children ages 1-6 with a diagnosis of Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD).
Event attendees met our professionally trained staff, toured the facilities, and learned about our services.
At the Infinity Center, we believe that compassionate, evidence-based practices are the keys to unlocking a child’s potential. We work together with parents and caregivers to develop individualized treatment plans that meet the specific needs of each child and their family.
Brandy and Tristan, shared their perspective as parents of a child enrolled at Carroll County. “It is so hard to trust ‘strangers’ with your child, let alone your non-verbal autistic child. From our very first meeting with their team to create our son’s treatment plan, that ‘stranger’ stigma went away. They truly made us feel like this was a team, and they have always had our son’s best interests at heart.”
Kristen Colyer, Director of Children’s Services at the Infinity Center, spoke about supporting families every step of the way. “Parents may notice their children aren’t meeting milestones or acting differently at a young age. However, we can’t begin services until we have a diagnosis. Diagnostic and assessment services are offered at the center to minimize the waiting time and connect children to treatment early on.”
Early intervention makes a big difference in a child’s life and in their family members’ lives, as well. In Harford County, Ria noticed her son was significantly happier after only four weeks of therapy. “Our family was immensely grateful to have Alex paired with staff members who were noticeably compassionate, committed, and hard working.”
Fast forward a few years, Ria’s son, who is now five, enjoys attending preschool and therapy. He’s excited to go to school with “the big kids” next year.
“Thank you all for coming out and showing your support,” Cindy Plavier-Truitt, President and CEO at Humanim, said. “We’re happy to be here, grow here and serve children in need here. Now, we ask you to spread the word!”
