As part of our Behavioral Health department’s ongoing staff training initiative, all support staff members became certified in Mental Health First Aid! Mental Health First Aid is a national, public education program provided by the National Council which teaches individuals across the community how to understand mental illnesses, support timely intervention and save lives.
Through the training, our staff learned how to identify, understand and respond to signs of mental illnesses and substance use disorders in their communities – including how to help a person who may be developing a mental health or substance abuse problem, experiencing a worsening of an existing mental health problem, or in a mental health crisis.
