Humanim’s Start on Success (SOS) students had the opportunity to volunteer at the 2019 YMCA National Championship Swim Meet held at the University of Maryland in College Park last week. The Baltimore City cohort served as timers for all of the swimmers, and met Darian Townsend, an Olympic gold medalist while they were there!
SOS, an award-winning youth workforce program launched in 1997, prepares high school students for the workforce through comprehensive skills training and mentoring, and real-world work experience through paid internships and other career opportunities. The program engages participants in community volunteer activities!
