Through a partnership with Athletes Serving Athletes, several of the consumers here at the Gerwig Day Program have been able to participate in races and marathons. Athletes Serving Athletes, or ASA, has aided thousands of individuals, specifically those with disabilities that prevent them from ambulating independently, by creatively integrating those with disabilities into teams of able bodied runners known as wing men and women. ASA has made a wonderfully positive impact on our consumers, and our consumers were able to show them some much deserved appreciation through this event!
The Fashion Show had consumer models displaying apparel in the following themes: Sundays Best, Hip Hop/90’s, Sports, and Superheroes. The fashion show had several consumers that displayed great performances through singing & dancing. Each consumer that participated had high energy and was able create great crowd participation as they made their way down the runway.
Through the fashion show the consumers were able to raise funds for ASA to continue their great work with people who have the heart to run but are unable to. We have created a great friendship with members of ASA and are so grateful for the work they do with our clients.
