Humanim Selected as 2025 Howard County YEP! Grant Awardee: Empowering Youth for Career Success

Humanim is excited to announce that we have been selected for a second time as a recipient of the 2025 Youth Engagement Programming (YEP!) grant from Howard County. We’re grateful for this award, which provides us with the resources to continue supporting young people of Howard County through our Youth Transition Services, offering career readiness, mentorship, and job development opportunities as they move from high school into successful careers.

At just 18 years old, Kalif is already proving that determination, passion, and a strong support system can pave the way for a bright future. Kalif first learned about Humanim through his DORS counselor and joined the Work-Based Learning Experience (WBLE) program to gain work experience and support his growth.

Breaking Barriers: Donovan’s Path from WBLE to the University of Maryland

Meet Donovan, not only an alum of our Work-Based Learning Experience (WBLE) program, but a fabulous member of our City Seeds Kitchen serving the Maryland Freestate ChalleNGe Academy at Aberdeen Proving Ground. Donovan is the first participant of our program to be accepted into the University of Maryland, College Park!

Leadership Maryland Visits Humanim

We were honored to host Leadership Maryland, a very successful statewide leadership program, at the Brewery for an insightful and inspiring event. This visit was part of the Central Maryland Health & Human Services Tour, and we are proud that Humanim was one of the tour’s featured stops. The visit included a panel discussion about our Youth Transition Services and the efforts Humanim is making to ensure workplace readiness for youth with developmental and learning disabilities.

Empowering Families: Had’s Journey With The Infinity Center

Meet Mollie, a parent from our Infinity Center, and dedicated licensed clinical professional counselor specializing in adult care. Mollie found herself navigating the challenges of Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) when her son, Had, was diagnosed in April 2021. As a mother of two, Mollie was determined to provide Had with the best possible support to help him thrive.

Allison: Nurturing Compassion on the Path to Healthcare

During Youth Apprenticeship Week, we had the pleasure of spotlighting our remarkable youth apprentices. Among them is Allison, a senior at Reservoir High School, who discovered Humanim’s Direct Support Professional (DSP) Apprenticeship program with the guidance of her school counselor.
