Humanim is pleased to announce two new programs in its Developmental Disabilities and Workforce Development Divisions: Pre-Employment Transition Services and the Wellness Program.
Pre-Employment Transition Services
Humanim’s new Pre-Employment Transition Services program uses both a classroom and contextual training model to equip special needs students between the ages of 14 and 21 with the skills, knowledge and experience to prepare for employment. Students develop workplace behaviors, social and independent living skills through both classroom and work based learning experiences. Our program takes a person-centered approach to career discovery, and is designed to assist youth with a wide range of disabilities and learning styles in exploring and identifying potential career paths, while developing the skills necessary for successful employment after graduation.
Wellness Program
The Wellness Program, administered by Humanim’s Workforce Solutions team in partnership with Community College of Baltimore County and DSS, is a new workforce development program that serves Temporary Cash Assistance (TCA) customers who are unable to participate in the Job Network program due to physical, cognitive and/or mental health disabilities. TCA clients work closely with a case manager, who provides one-on-one assistance towards individualized goals and action plans. The program provides people with disabilities and their families with resources, services, and support that will promote employment and self-sufficiency. Humanim’s Workforce Solutions works with Baltimore County Department of Social Services and the Community College of Baltimore County to provide comprehensive workforce development services to recipients of Temporary Cash Assistance, and serves residents throughout Baltimore County.
